1 Min Blog: My Host Parent's Parents

Today I met my host parent's Parent on the mother side, annnnddd their house is absolutely stunning. It has so much character. We took a long trip to the Grandparents house which is in Kalajoki about 6 hour drive from Lahti, and stayed there for one night, and it was lovely. Their house is beautiful! Now we didn't drive all that way to see the grandparents, no, we were taking a quick pit stop to recharge our batteries to travel to Ylläs. The big old ski resort in Finland, where I will go skiing.

But the Granparent's house was so full of character, I really felt warmed by the houses presence. I loved it. They had a cellar that had plants and food in it, they had these hanging wind charms that they had made that look awesome. They also had an attic for the little children to play in. While in the attic I got shown the Finnish Daffy Duck who is named Aku Ankka.

Another feature was the Sauna, which was a wooden sauna, where the rocks where heated by a fire. It was fantastic. The smell of wood, and the way the heat from pouring the water on the rocks crawled around your body made it a really good sauna. I give it a 8 out of 8 mate.

I really wanted to stay longer, but I want to go Skiing more.

Anyway, I am going to start doing these short little updates, because there is so much happening it is crazy.
