My Cruise Ship Experience - Is Saying Yes to Everything a Good Thing?

Okay so if you know me personally, you will know that I tend to say YES to a lot of things. Like if you were doing the most boring thing in the world, and you asked me to come, I would say YES.
REASONING – because it is so EASY to say YES!
Like on the second week of being at school, I was asked by one of the classes I was in if I wanted to join them to go sledding on a hill in Lahti. I immediately said yes. No THOUGHT PUT TO IT AT ALL.
This is bad. We were given brains for a reason, TO Think, and if you do not THINK. Then you are a waste of the excellent food that is available on planet earth.
Now the reason this was bad was because my host family are very busy people, not busy in the sense they do a lot of work, no they like to do lots of fun activities, such as go on a CRUISE SHIP TO SWEDEN the same day that the class was going sledding. I was sad and happy.
I then told the class that I couldn´t join them because I was on a cruise ship to Sweden.
Though this was where I recognized my first BFF (Best Finnish Friend), Well actually it would be BRF, because he´s Russian. So, I have a Russian MAD LAD as a friend. Of course, Charlie I would never be able to replace you, or any other of the many friends in Australia.
The Swedish Cruise was also amazeballs, like there was so much going on. During that trip I only slept 6 hours a night Because of many reasons but the main one being that there was shows till about 12 o'clock at night and they will pretty good shows like the singers were pretty good, the dancers were amazing and there was live band to dance too so I was showing off my amazing dance moves.
But I was cautious because it was the first night and the next day were going to Stockholm, the major city of Sweden.
My host parents and I went to a huge museum about a massive ship that was just sitting there looking all cool that way because it was sunk, because it was flawed, because it sucked as a ship and it sucked at turning it was a pretty sucky ship at being a ship, (It was too top heavy so when it turned, it went for a bit of a tumble) but as a work of art and historical piece it was bloody amazing I couldn't help but enjoy it and everything was in Swedish and English so lucky me I could understand it.
Iiris, my host sister, didn’t want to go see the ship so she went, SHOPPING! Yeah…….
Got back to the Cruise ship after touring the Stockholm a bit, and the party started once again. So first of all, we found that there was karaoke on the ship. So being the singer that I am I went and did some good old-fashioned karaoke and…………. it was interesting. I selected a song that by the name was Waltzing Matilda, Like I know that song like the back of my hand. But it was by a different artist. Looked at it, went “she’ll be right”, and put me name down.
About 2 singers got up and did their songs and…. I was freaking out. Because I didn’t know what to expect. I went to toilet and sat down and thought
“Fletcher, you gonna stand up there and try and sing a song you have never listened to and embarrass yourself, and Australia because you decided to wear the shirt that has surfing kangaroos and koalas on a beach chairs and try and sing an Aussie Song. You are an absolute crazy person”.
So, on the loo I was motivating myself, and by golly gosh I sound like an absolute crazy person. Like all these fine people are going to the toilet minding their own business and then they hear this dude being all like
“You’re never going to see these people again, just get up their and do it. It may be the first time but just improvise. You can do it! Just act natural, act like you have done it a thousand times. Just Kill It! YEAH!”
So, I went back up. And tried to enjoy the night, and I was just listening to some average singers some cool singers, some amazing singers. It was a good night.
Until
“Fletcher Kendall will now being sing Waltzing Matilda” crackled over the speakers
I swear I nervous farted all the way up to that microphone. Like Oh GOSH.
I could just feel the adrenaline pumping through me. It felt as if I'm was about to go for a jump out of an airplane. I felt ready.

Got to the microphone, the words came up on the screen annnnnnnndddddd……. it wasn't the waltzing Matilda that I knew I don't know what it was but my giddy gosh, it was a depressing song, and it was so hard. I was just thinking to myself as I was reading these words “Should of chosen ‘Let it Go’ from Frozen, Should of chosen ‘Let it Go’ from Frozen.”
That was fun and knew, now I know to never chose a song based purely off name.
After that traumatic experience we went for a bit of a dance and watched the midnight performance, which was not half bad I say. AND THEN WE DANCED. Like hard core
dancing. Where I was throwing a random child that doesn’t speak any English while on the dance floor around the room because we became friends by playing a random game of rock, paper, scissors.
SO,
Overall it was a fantastic cruise.
My lesson was learned, I had fun, and rock, paper scissors is an international language.
Other than that, saying yes was a great way to put myself in an uncomfortable situation so, it was a great decision to do.
Anyway Kitos for Reading
Stay Awesome
