The Beginning of my Adventure

I'll admit it, I was super nervous before I came on this exchange. The night before hand I only had short bursts of sleep before I would wake up and quickly check that I have everything. When I had checked for the 40th time, my Dad and I were driving up to Rockhampton to catch a 3pm flight to Brisbane.
As I packed my 18 kg suitcase into the back of the Black 4X4 Lexus, it still felt foreign what I was doing. It hadn't registered yet the vastness of the adventure I was taking. The feeling was almost like when Indiana Jones solves puzzles and jumps pitfalls and finally finds the place where the treasure is. You feel excited, and relieved you are alive, but also you feel like you are walking a fine line, where you might end up just falling into a secret trap.
It is such a weird feeling, and it didn't go away, even after reaching Brisbane, or when having a last dinner with Jarrod, or even the next day after seeing my Dad off for him to go to Melbourne for the Melbourne Tennis Championship.
My Dad and I flew the day before hand and then slept at the Pullman during the night, and while we were there Jarrod, my Brother from another mother, was in the hotel next to us so we had a last supper together. Jarrod was going to Brazil for his exchange.
When hearing about the differences between Brazil and Finland I was a little jealous of Jarrod, as there were two main differences:
1. It's not 20 degrees BELOW ZERO!
2. They have maids!
Like that is so unfair, I have always wanted a maid, just so I can be more lazy. And yeah, that is STUPIDLY cold. When I heard Finland can get that cold I thought to myself one question, only one, HOW DO YOU PACK FOR THAT!??!?!
Luckily my Dad and I just came back from my Uncle's 50th in Mammoth Lakes in California where it at least drops below 0 degrees. So that is what mainly weighed down my bag. 2 thermal pants, 2 thermal shirts, ski paints, some shirts and jeans.
So with bag packed I went to the Brisbane International Terminal.
I Think I was Ready.
Anyway
Kiitos (Finnish for Thank you) for Reading

Mate, we were lucky in the US. They're currently experiencing a polar vortex at present. Some place has gotten down to -62 degrees F. I have a feeling that might be a touch colder than Finland at present. We didn't need that when we were there.
